Top loader for shipping, trading, and storing raw cards. Magnetic one-touch for displaying your best hits. Most collectors need both — they solve different problems.
Top loaders: the workhorse
A top loader is a rigid, open-top plastic holder. Cards go in sleeved, and the standard practice is penny sleeve → top loader → team bag. They cost well under a dollar each in bulk, stack neatly, and every buyer on every marketplace knows how to handle one. Downsides: the open top lets dust in (hence the team bag), and standard 35pt loaders don't fit thick patch cards — those need 55pt, 100pt, or thicker.
Magnetic one-touch holders: the display piece
A one-touch is a two-piece holder that closes magnetically around the card — no screws, crystal-clear, often with UV blocking. They're the standard for displaying hits on a desk or shelf. Downsides: they cost several dollars each, they're bulkier to ship, and standard 35pt one-touches don't fit sleeved cards (Pro-Mold makes a version that does).
